I’m Petr Novotný, a wedding photographer based in Nové Město, and weddings are my main focus. My work is rooted in a documentary approach: I look for natural emotions, authentic moments and the subtle nuances between people. I don’t favor posed shots at the expense of atmosphere — I emphasize spontaneity and composition that will convey your memories as you experienced them. To me, wedding photography is primarily about trust. That’s why I communicate clearly and without pressure — before the wedding we’re happy to have a phone call or meet in person so you know how I work and I can learn about your expectations. On the wedding day I work unobtrusively and observantly: a combination of reportage and carefully styled portraits gives the final gallery a lively, balanced character. I use available light as well as appropriate supplementary lighting to capture the mood from the preparations through the ceremony to the evening celebration. You can expect a sensitive approach to people, careful composition of images and a focus on authentic details — smiles, glances, small rituals and the atmosphere of the venue. I edit photographs to preserve natural colors and emotions, avoiding unnecessary effects that would distract from the moment. While I occasionally accept commercial and corporate assignments, wedding photography is my specialty and receives my primary attention and energy. I mainly shoot in Nové Město and the surrounding area, but I’m happy to travel further by agreement.
