I’m Marián Janík, a wedding photographer based in Ostrava focused on natural, emotive, and unobtrusive storytelling of your wedding day. I approach wedding photography primarily as reportage — observing the day, seeking genuine moments, and creating images that will evoke the same feelings years from now. I am calm and patient and avoid forcing posed, artificial scenes; what matters is that you feel relaxed and like yourselves in front of the camera. My approach is honest and practical: I photograph the whole day or selected parts, capture hundreds of frames, and at the same time actively look for the best angles and light — I won’t hesitate to kneel, crouch or lie down to get the shot worth keeping. I prefer natural light and authentic moments; I don’t use smoke bombs or artificial gimmicks that distract from the emotions and atmosphere of your wedding. Working with me begins with an open conversation: I like to scout the location for couple portraits in advance and I offer engagement (pre-wedding) sessions so you can see how I work and feel comfortable in front of the lens. On the wedding day I remain an unobtrusive observer as well as an active author of portraits and couple shots — the mix of reportage and short, calm portrait moments gives the final gallery a natural depth. I carefully edit the photographs, perform portrait and couple retouching within a reasonable scope, and deliver the finished images to you securely and conveniently. I prefer personal handover on a memory drive and, if desired, will prepare a photo book proposal.
