Hello, I’m Margret Kolar — a wedding photographer based in Ostrava. I started photographing weddings in 2014 and since then I’ve worked with hundreds of individuals and dozens of couples. I see wedding photography as a privilege: to be present at some of the most important and often most truthful moments of your life — from the quiet tension of preparations, through joyful congratulations, to the spontaneous moments of evening celebration. Why choose me as your wedding photographer? My approach rests on three pillars: humility, listening, and communication. I don’t pursue perfect poses at all costs; instead I emphasize naturalness and the emotions that the day brings. When I succeed in creating an atmosphere of trust, the photos that emerge not only look beautiful — they tell your story and remain an authentic record of the day you’ll one day replay with love. My working style combines documentary (reportage) and thoughtfully arranged portrait sessions. I observe the events around me to capture important moments discreetly and without unnecessary interference, while also making space to photograph emotive portraits of the newlyweds that you’ll want to keep forever. For arranged shots I apply gentle retouching so the final portraits look natural and flattering. How does collaboration work? I like to talk with you before the wedding — we’ll go through the schedule, locations, and your wishes so I can prepare for the day and ensure everything runs smoothly. During the wedding day I aim to be a support rather than a distraction: I work discreetly and with respect for the atmosphere of both the ceremony and the reception. I primarily photograph in Ostrava and the surrounding area, but I’m happy to travel to wherever you want your wedding story captured.
