I am Matěj Sobotka, a wedding photographer based in Nový Jičín. I see wedding photography as an art of stopping a story — your story — in natural, truthful images. With more than 10 years of experience, I focus primarily on a documentary approach: I look for moments that happen on their own and aim to capture them unobtrusively, sensitively and with respect for the day’s atmosphere. How I work with clients: before the wedding I like to talk and set expectations — it matters to me that you feel comfortable and know what to expect. I also offer a pre-wedding shoot as an opportunity to get to know each other before the big day; this helps find natural poses and build trust in front of the lens. On the wedding day I work discreetly and openly to capture real emotions without unnecessary staging. In addition to wedding reportage I create portrait and family photography and photograph events — I consider these services complementary and can offer them as needed. I also provide a custom photobooth that livens up your celebration and gives guests instant printed keepsakes.
